On the Road in Greece: Motorhoming and Cycling from October into December 2024
For some 60 days we motorhomed for about 1,750 miles through northern Greece and around the Peloponnese, staying in 20 different places. Throughout, clear blue skies, little or no wind and warm temperatures were ideal for cycling the mountain chain and coastal fringe of the Greek mainland, using the motorhome as a movable base (and associated feast).
Having come out to Greece through the two non-EU (and non-Schengen) countries of Serbia and North Macedonia, we aim to match this with a rerurn overland journey statting in Albania and Montenegro. And then through Croatia, Slovenia, Austria, Germany and the Netherlands. P&O Ferries will then carry us across the North Sea from the Rotterdam to the world’s former largest fishing port of Kingston Upon Hull (where Barry first emerged into that earlier world).
That's a great journey of some 1,600 miles, albeit one taking us reluctantly away from Greece, but needs and Schengen must!
